Increasingly, with new HR practices like flexi-work gaining acceptance, the physical work spaces we know today may soon become obsolete. The concept of working from home, though not new, is becoming so real that it's finding resonance in supporting industries. Kotak Mahindra Bank is among the companies that have made a beginning towards the work-from-home possibility. It has enabled an online attendance system where employees can mark presence from their workstations. The company is now evaluating whether this could be done using technology such as mobile apps, to begin with. So an employee need not necessarily be present at the office location to mark attendance. It is the younger generation that appears keen on such new practices. Also, while one would presume that more women would go for flexi-job options, the reality is that men are equally keen on it.
