ISB Wins the KPMG International Case Competition

World's largest business case study competition, KICC witnessed 11 prominent B-school teams battle it out for the coveted 'KICC National Championship' trophy

India School of Business (ISB) were announced the winners of KPMG International Case Competition (KICC) national finals by Mr. Mritunjay Kapur, Head of Risk Consulting practice, KPMG in India. The world’s largest business case study competition, KICC witnessed 11 prominent B-school teams battle it out for the coveted ’KICC National Championship’ trophy, price money of Rs. 20,000 for each member of the winning and a chance to compete for the global finale in Dubai, UAE.

In a glittering ceremony held at Hotel Four Points by Sheraton in New Delhi on 21 February 2015, Mr. Mritunjay Kapur kept the audience captivated during his address to the participating students, and awarded each participant a memento. Faculty members from the participating B-Schools and many other professionals from KPMG’s advisory function were also present on this momentous occasion.

According to Mr. Mritunjay, ‘’In a short period of time KPMG in India’s Advisory practice has become one of the fastest growing providers of consulting services. One of our biggest strengths in Advisory is our people’s ability to understand our clients’ business challenges and develop cutting edge solutions to deliver value. KICC is an excellent platform for participating students to gain insights about our services, clients, people, work culture and exciting career opportunities. It is one of the many ways in which we engage with the country’s top quality student communities. I congratulate the team from, India School of Business for their splendid win in the KICC India national finals this year and wish them good luck for the global finals.”

The KPMG International Case Competition (KICC) is the world’s largest business case study competition organized by any Big 4 professional services firm. Globally the competition is a decade old and during this period, it has played a pivotal role in bringing the academia and KPMG professionals closer to one another. In the competition, KPMG member firms across the world select one team from their local markets as contestants for the KICC international final.

These real world business case studies represent recent global business challenges and are developed specially for KICC participants”.

The winners are now set to participate in the KICC International Finals in Dubai, UAE, this year in April, where they will compete globally with 28 teams from other countries. This is the penultimate competition in KICC in which the global winner would be announced KPMG will engage with them in practice sessions to equip them with the skills and attributes needed to collaborate and compete in a truly global business environment.

The evening’s prize distribution ceremony also recognized teams for their extraordinary performance under KICC’s special awards categories:

Synergy award for the best team work: Indian Institute of Management Bangalore

The Ingenious award for the most effective slides and presentation delivery: Indian School of Business.

The Out of the box award for the most innovative recommendations: SP Jain Institute of Management & Research Mumbai.

The Arbitrator award for the most effective questions and answers session: Indian School of Business.

The Visionary award for the best implementation and action plan: Indian Institute of Management Lucknow.

The Facebook Stardom award for the most popular team on Facebook: Faculty of Management Studies Delhi.

The YouTube Stardom award for the most popular team on YouTube: Indian Institute of Management Calcutta
