Gone are the days when the economy grew at 3-4% while the workforce intake grew at 7%. In fact, today the numbers are reversed. While the major challenge in a fast growing economy is the demand-supply mismatch in terms of talent, the other challenge is in terms of their mobility, demand and career orientation. The companies therefore need to focus on attracting, retaining and managing the aspirations of talent. Companies will necessarily have to invest in segmentation and provide differential policies and practices to different segments as younger generations expect a very different ecosystem.
