Spotlight Awards to us means a recognition of the team effort that has gone into creating a product with a unique proposition in the marketplace. Also our team’s average age would be around 30 when creating this product. So it would be a good recognition of the young team’s enterprising and motivating spirit to achieve the set objective. As a young product start up unit in 2009 it was difficult to a) convince people on the benefits of cloud in organisation and b) the lack of willingness of many to try a new vendor in the market place. The company finds out that now more opinion is turning towards the cloud and hopefully in the next couple of years more and more companies will adopt such solutions.

Technology can help bring a great deal of certainty into people development and risk mitigation which are the two key factors for any organisation. There are many direct and indirect benefits with technology:

  1. Highly Responsive Organisational Culture to meet new business demands
  2. Objectivity and Certainty of planning in operational deliverables and assessments
  3. Ownership of processes by more employee engagement ensuring lesser resistance to change.

Biggest Challenges & Key Learnings: The challenge for most business technology products working with people in the future would be to engage them more socially due to the changing trends of Generation Y+.

Future of technology in HR: HR’s work is never fully appreciated by the management for all the efforts involved with dealing with people and all their different facets of interaction. While dealing with people issues will always remain in the realm of human perceptions, leveraging technology to provide objective facts to all parties in an organisation furthers the ideals of a learning organisation that strives to outperform its peers in a highly competitive industry.

Message for the HR community: Technology not only eases your administrative burden of paperwork but it also enhances the profile of HR as the standard bearer of quality and reliability of an organisation’s people resource.
