Axis Bank launches LGBTQIA+ hiring initiative for banking careers

Axis Bank launches LGBTQIA+ hiring initiative for banking careers

Axis Bank, in a move promoting inclusivity in banking, launched the "ARISE ComeAsYouAre" programme. This new initiative targets the LGBTQIA+ community, offering an open campus recruitment process that focuses on skills and potential, not academic background.

The programme reflects the evolving job market where talent with the right skillsets is becoming increasingly valuable.  "ARISE ComeAsYouAre" welcomes talented LGBTQIA+ individuals from any Indian college to apply and build careers in banking with Axis Bank.

This initiative builds upon Axis Bank's existing commitment to diversity and inclusion.  In 2021, they launched the "ComeAsYouAre" charter, offering a range of policies and practices for LGBTQIA+ employees and customers.

"We prioritise skills over backgrounds, fostering a more inclusive talent pool," stated Rajkamal Vempati, President & Head (she/her) of Human Resources at Axis Bank. "The future of banking is diverse and ARISE is our bridge, connecting us with talented individuals from all walks of life."

Harish Iyer (He/She), SVP & Head-Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, emphasised the importance of a fair recruitment process. The new initiative brings together talented minds from different backgrounds. It allows us to tap into a broader range of ideas and approaches. It is crucial to have a well-defined evaluation process that minimises bias and ensures fair assessment of all candidates."

The initiative offers an opportunity for fresh graduates and professionals with up to 5 years of experience.
