One of India’s leading Conglomerate Aditya Birla Group has elevated Dr. Santrupt B Misra as the CEO of their Chemical Business. He has been elevated to this role from April 1st, 2018. This role comes in addition to his current role as the CEO of the Birla Carbon and Director of Human Resources at Aditya Birla Group.

Dr. Misra confirmed the news of his elevation to People Matters.

He also holds several key positions including Chairman of the Board of the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela and Independent Director on the Board of the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC).

Under his leadership, Birla Carbon has emerged as a global leader in the carbon black space from its beginnings as a regionally focused carbon black supplier. He has been instrumental in developing a strong employer brand for the Aditya Birla Group. 

An HR professional and business leader, Dr. Misra has over 30 years of experience in Business Operations, Strategy, Organization Development, Transformation, and Change Management, Business Consulting, and HR Management.

He joined Aditya Birla Group as VP, HR in 1996 and worked in different roles over the period of 32 years. Before joining Aditya Birla Group he has worked with organizations such as Hindustan Unilever as Training Manager and Lecturer at Tata Institute of Social Sciences.
