Veteran HR leader takes charge as Ashok Leyland reshuffles senior leadership and moves former HR head to special projects.

Ashok Leyland has appointed Jasmeet Bhatia as President and Head of Human Resources, effective 27 January 2026, marking a senior leadership change at the commercial vehicle maker.

The appointment was disclosed under Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Regulations, the company said in a regulatory filing. Bhatia replaces Raja Radhakrishnan, who will move into a role overseeing special projects within Ashok Leyland and the Hinduja Group.

Bhatia brings more than 25 years of experience in human resources, with a background spanning leadership development, succession planning, organisational transformation and industrial relations. He holds an MBA in human resources from the Management Development Institute and a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Delhi University.

The leadership transition comes as Ashok Leyland continues to strengthen its management bench amid a sustained recovery in operating performance. The company has been focused on rebuilding profitability and improving execution across its manufacturing and commercial operations.

Radhakrishnan’s shift to special projects is intended to ensure continuity on strategic initiatives at both the company and group level, according to the disclosure.

Ashok Leyland said the terms of Bhatia’s appointment will be governed by company policy. The change has been communicated to both the National Stock Exchange of India and the BSE, in line with regulatory requirements.

The company did not outline immediate changes to its people strategy but said the appointment reflects its focus on reinforcing leadership capability as it navigates the next phase of growth.
