B Srinivas named CEO of VE Commercial Vehicles from April 1

VE Commercial Vehicles appoints Eicher veteran B Srinivas as CEO from April, as long-serving chief Vinod Aggarwal moves to chairman.
VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd (VECV) has appointed B Srinivas as its managing director and chief executive officer, effective 1 April 2026, as part of a planned leadership transition at the commercial vehicle manufacturer.
The company said Srinivas will succeed Vinod Aggarwal, who has led the firm for nearly two decades and will move into the role of chairman of the board.
The changes mark a carefully managed leadership shift at VECV, a joint venture between Sweden’s Volvo Group and India’s Eicher Motors that manufactures Eicher-branded trucks and buses.
Internal succession plan
Srinivas, a long-time Eicher executive, currently serves as chief operating officer at VECV, a position he has held since 2024.
With more than three decades of experience within the Eicher group, he has worked across multiple functions including sales, product development, strategy and operations.
Eicher Motors Chairman Siddhartha Lal said the appointment reflects the company’s long-term leadership planning.
“I am delighted with the appointment of B Srinivas as the new managing director and CEO of VECV,” Lal said in a statement. “It strengthens our well-calibrated long-term strategy and ensures continuity.”
Leadership change after two decades
The transition follows the long tenure of Aggarwal, who has overseen VECV’s growth into one of India’s key commercial vehicle manufacturers.
Aggarwal will assume the position of chairman as Eicher Motors’ nominee, replacing outgoing chairperson Sofia Frändberg, who completes her three-year term but will continue as a member of the board.
Aggarwal congratulated Srinivas on his appointment, saying he was confident the company would continue its growth trajectory under the new leadership.
Board reshuffle accompanies leadership move
The leadership changes also include adjustments to the company’s board.
Rajinder Singh Sachdeva, who is retiring as deputy chief executive and chief transformation officer, will join the board as an Eicher Motors nominee.
He replaces Raul Rai, who is stepping down as director after serving on the board since the company’s formation.
A key player in India’s truck market
VECV is a significant player in India’s commercial vehicle industry through its Eicher Trucks and Buses brand, serving both domestic and export markets.
The company is also a key partner for Volvo Group in India’s truck and bus segment, reflecting the joint venture’s importance in the global manufacturer’s emerging market strategy.
Industry analysts note that leadership continuity is particularly important in the commercial vehicle sector, where manufacturers are navigating regulatory changes, electrification and evolving logistics demand.
Reuters has previously reported that India’s truck market is undergoing rapid technological transformation as companies invest in cleaner powertrains and digital fleet solutions.
Focus on next phase of growth
Srinivas said he intends to focus on expanding the company’s growth trajectory while building on its existing operational foundation.
“My journey with Eicher has been truly remarkable,” he said in a statement. “I look forward to embarking on this next phase.”
With the leadership transition complete, VECV now faces the task of maintaining momentum in a highly competitive market as demand for commercial vehicles rises alongside India’s infrastructure and logistics expansion.
