Dabur names Herjit Bhalla CEO for India operations from April 2026

The FMCG major reshapes its top team as Mohit Malhotra takes on a global CEO role and Bhalla assumes charge of domestic growth.
Dabur India has appointed consumer goods veteran Herjit S. Bhalla as Chief Executive Officer of its India business, effective April 15, 2026, as the company undertakes a senior leadership restructuring to sharpen its domestic execution.
The move, cleared by Dabur’s board of directors, follows the elevation of Mohit Malhotra to Whole Time Director and Global Chief Executive Officer. Bhalla will report to Malhotra in his global capacity and take full responsibility for Dabur’s India operations.
The company said Bhalla’s mandate will centre on strengthening category leadership, accelerating growth, and improving execution across Dabur’s core domestic portfolio at a time when competition in the fast-moving consumer goods sector is intensifying.
Bhalla brings more than 25 years of experience across commercial and general management roles in India and overseas markets. He holds a commerce degree from the University of Delhi and an MBA from Management Development Institute, Gurugram.
He spent 16 years at Unilever in sales and marketing leadership positions, including international assignments, before moving to organised retail as Chief Operating Officer at Metro Cash and Carry India.
Bhalla later joined The Hershey Company, where he served as Managing Director for India and held vice-president roles overseeing international markets and global customer strategy.
The leadership transition underscores Dabur’s effort to reinforce its India business as consumer demand patterns evolve and companies face mounting pressure to defend market share through innovation, distribution strength and pricing discipline.
With Bhalla set to take charge of domestic operations, investors and industry watchers will be looking for signs of faster growth momentum in Dabur’s home market, even as Malhotra steers the broader global agenda.
