Daimler India’s Satyakam Arya to lead Hino Motors as President & CEO

Satyakam Arya appointed President & CEO of Hino Motors, marking a significant leadership shift as Daimler and Toyota move toward integration.
Satyakam Arya, the Managing Director and CEO of Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), has been appointed as the President and CEO of Hino Motors, effective April 1, 2026. The appointment marks a crucial leadership transition as Daimler Truck and Toyota Motor Corporation move forward with the planned integration of their commercial vehicle subsidiaries, Mitsubishi Fuso and Hino Motors, The Hindu Business Line reported.
Arya, who has played a key role in transforming DICV, will now lead Hino Motors’ global operations from Tokyo, overseeing its strategic direction and transformation as part of the broader integration. This new role is part of the joint venture between Daimler Truck and Toyota to establish a new listed holding company for Mitsubishi Fuso and Hino Motors, expected to commence operations in April 2026.
The integration plan follows the signing of definitive agreements in June 2025 between Daimler Truck, Mitsubishi Fuso, Hino Motors, and Toyota, with the two companies each aiming to hold a 25% stake in the new holding company. The leadership change at Hino Motors is subject to board approvals, shareholder consent, and the completion of regulatory processes.
Achim Puchert, Member of the Board of Management of Daimler Truck Holding AG, praised Arya’s leadership, stating that his exceptional strategic acumen and ability to drive transformation made him the ideal candidate for the role. “Satyakam Arya has been an outstanding leader during his time with us, demonstrating exceptional expertise in commercial vehicle operations and a deep commitment to customer success,” said Puchert.
Under Arya’s leadership, DICV achieved record-breaking profitability and expanded its customer base across India. Arya also oversaw the growth of the company’s BharatBenz brand, with dealership touchpoints increasing from 182 to over 385 locations nationwide.
In his new role at Hino Motors, Arya will be tasked with leading the company through a period of transformation, aligning it with the changing dynamics of the global commercial vehicle industry. As infrastructure investments accelerate and the push toward sustainable mobility gains traction, Arya will have the opportunity to capitalise on the opportunities within the sector.
The succession planning for DICV’s leadership is already underway, with further details to be announced in the coming weeks.
