Cab aggregator Uber has roped in Rebecca Messina as global Chief Marketing Officer. As Uber’s first-ever CMO, she will bring together Uber’s marketing teams around the globe to consolidate their global marketing strategy. 

Chief Operating Officer of Uber, Barney Harford, is excited to learn from her and work together to make the company one of the world’s most valuable brands.  He said, "Rebecca brings deep experience in building global brands, and she’ll be a terrific leader for Uber’s marketing teams around the world.”

The new CMO has three key focus areas, people, growth and brands and the according to her the cab aggregator checks all the three boxes. She is looking forward to building an iconic brand alongside a team that’s committed to transforming the future of mobility. 

According to Dara Khosrowshahi, CEO, Uber, she is the right leader to build Uber's marketing efforts globally and to showcase the ways Uber is igniting opportunities for their customers around the world.  

Before joining Uber, she was working with Beam Suntory as global Chief Marketing Officer since 2016. Rebecca spent around 22 years at The Coca-Cola Company, where she served as Senior Vice President, Marketing & Innovation for Ventures & Emerging Brands. 

Rebecca also serves as board members with different marketing associations such as Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) and the Ad Council, and American Marketing Association. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Miami University (Oxford, Ohio).
