Senior Industry veteran, Yashwant Mahadik has joined the pharmaceutical company, Lupin as President Global Human resources.  In January 2018, Yashwant Mahadik resigned fromt his role as Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) at Sun Pharma. The Indian drug major appointed Mahadik, to lead HR initiative in August 2015.

He announced his new innings with Lupin on LinkedIn where he said, "Three years ago, I came back from Europe to join SunPharma. After completing my tour of duty at SunPharma, in January this year, I resigned and then formally separated from the company in April this year. I left SunPharma with some very fond memories and great friendships. I will continue to watch the success and growing careers of my friends and former colleagues at Sun with joy and pride. From the bottom of my heart, I wish them, all the very best.” 

He added, “Today, I join Lupin Limited as, “President - Global Human Resources”. I will continue to be based in Mumbai at the company’s headquarters. Lupin Limited is a major generics pharma multinational with presence and operations across the world. Looking forward to working with all me new colleagues at Lupin. 

In a company statement, Nilesh Gupta, Managing Director Lupin and CEO, Vinita Gupta welcomed the HR veteran. The announcement reads, “We are very pleased to announce the appointment of Yashwant Mahadik as President, Global Human Resources. Yash will lead Lupin’s HR function globally. He will be based in Mumbai and will report to both us.” 

The announcement also mentioned that Srinivasulu C ( Senior VP, HR) Rituraj Sar (VP, Learning and Development), Gaurav Mehta, (General Manager, HR) Lisa Middlebrook (Senior VP, HR, Americas) and Margien Matthews ( VP HR, EMEA) will report into him. 

Mahadik is a seasoned global HR professional with rich experience across industries and geographies in top companies such as Crompton Greaves, Colgate Palmolive, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson. Before joining Sun Pharma, he was based out of Netherlands and worked with Royal Philips as the Global Head of HR Business Transformation, IT & Operations. One of his successful initiatives in Philips was establishing the Philips University in 2014. His experience is very diverse and varies across industries/sectors like Technology, Consumer, and Healthcare) and geographies like India, UK, Japan, USA, ASEAN and Europe).

His areas of expertise include Strategy, HR and Business Transformation, Leadership Development, Organization and Culture building, Capability Building, Workforce Design & Planning, Talent Management and Succession Planning, Merger/Acquisition Integration and Executive Coaching. He has led transformation programs and initiatives in J&J and Philips at the enterprise level.

Mahadik is an alumnus of the University of Sheffield from where he completed his M.B.A in International Human Resources. In addition to being a stalwart in the HR fraternity, he is also a keen photographer. Currently, he is incubating a new and personal venture "Yash Mahadik Photography" in the dedication of a noble charitable cause.
