Appointments
Former BluSmart CEO Anirudh Arun to lead Refex Mobility

Chennai-based EV ride-hailing firm Refex eVeelz becomes Refex Mobility and names former BluSmart CEO Anirudh Arun to lead operations.
Chennai-based electric four-wheeler ride-hailing solutions provider Refex eVeelz has rebranded itself as Refex Mobility, the company announced on Monday. The move comes alongside the appointment of Anirudh Arun as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Arun, who previously served as CEO at all-electric ride-hailing mobility service BluSmart, is expected to bring strategic leadership to the company’s next phase of growth.
A company official said the appointment was part of Refex’s plan to attract senior talent from leading players in the mobility sector.
“Refex aims to bring in top talent from industry leaders, and Arun joining the company is a move in the same direction,” the official noted.
The rebrand follows earlier plans by Refex to explore a strategic tie-up with Gensol Engineering Ltd, which were called off in March this year. According to a company official, Refex was to acquire assets and deploy them on BluSmart. However, the plan did not proceed.
No further details on the reasons behind the decision to end the discussions with Gensol were provided.
Speaking to The Hindu on Monday, Arun confirmed that Refex Mobility currently operates a fleet of nearly 1,400 electric vehicles. The company provides technology-backed and tailored B2B and B2B2C mobility solutions, targeting corporates, institutions, and employee transport needs.
The fleet is designed to cater to both large enterprises and organisations looking to transition towards sustainable transport options.
For the previous fiscal year, Refex Mobility reported revenue of around ₹37 crore, according to Arun. He declined to share further financial projections or targets for the upcoming year, saying that the company would outline its growth plans at a later stage.
