Goodyear India HR head Abhishek Arora resigns, Vishal Dhingra takes charge

Goodyear India announces HR leadership change, with Vishal Dhingra set to lead South Asia operations from April 21.
Goodyear India’s Director – Human Resources, Abhishek Arora, has resigned from his role, with the company appointing Vishal Dhingra as HR Director for South Asia in a key leadership transition.
The resignation will take effect on April 20, 2026, while Dhingra will assume his new role from April 21, the company’s board said in an announcement dated March 24, as reported by Economic Times.
The move marks a shift from a country-specific HR leadership structure to a broader regional mandate. Dhingra’s expanded role will cover South Asia, including India, signalling an effort to align talent strategy and HR operations across markets.
Arora, who joined Goodyear India in February 2024, previously held senior human resources roles at companies such as Carlsberg India and Maruti Suzuki. His tenure at Goodyear comes to an end just over two years after taking charge.
Dhingra, who has earlier served as HR Director for Goodyear India, brings experience within the organisation and is also associated with industry bodies such as the Automotive Tyre Manufacturers’ Association, particularly in areas of skill development.
The transition comes at a time when HR leadership is increasingly seen as central to managing workforce complexity, talent retention and organisational culture in industrial companies. Goodyear India operates in a competitive tyre market alongside players such as MRF, Apollo Tyres, CEAT and JK Tyre.
The company has also faced operational and governance challenges in recent years. Media reports noted a 2024 incident involving a shortage of tyres at its Ballabgarh plant, which led to tighter internal controls, alongside past tax-related scrutiny.
Against this backdrop, the consolidation of HR leadership at a regional level may indicate a push towards stronger oversight and standardisation of talent practices across its South Asia operations.
Goodyear India, which has a presence of over a century in the country, operates manufacturing facilities in Ballabgarh and Aurangabad and focuses on segments such as farm tyres and premium passenger vehicles.
As Dhingra takes on the expanded mandate, the effectiveness of regional HR integration and its impact on talent management and operational stability will be closely watched.
