Karan Bajwa, Managing Director of IBM India in a tweet yesterday announced the appointment of company’s new Chief Marketing Officer. He wrote, “Delighted to welcome @deepalinaair as the new CMO for IBM India/South Asia. Thanks for your contributions @voiceofvasanth. Looking forward to creating exciting new experiences for our clients together.”

As per the tweet, Deepali Naair, who has been serving as Chief Marketing and Digital Officer at IIFL Wealth Management Ltd will now be leading the marketing agenda for IBM's India and SEA business.

Deepali brings in more than 20 years of experience in Marketing, E-commerce, Brand, Product & Sales. She has held leadership positions in Mahindra, L&T Financial Services Group & HSBC. She has also worked with brands such as Tata Motors, BPL Mobile, Draft FCB-Ulka and has previously held the position of the Marketing Manager for Saffola and Mediker at Marico.

Deepali's financial services experience constitutes of HSBC Global Asset Management and L&T insurance where she was Head – Marketing, E-Commerce and Customer Service. She also managed marketing for L&T Financial Services IPO and L&T Infrastructure Bonds. At Mahindra Holidays, she has led Marketing, Brand, Digital, Analytics, E-Commerce and Inventory-Sales as Chief Marketing Officer for about two years. 

In 2015, Deepali also received the award for, ‘Content Marketer of the Year’ by DMAi. She has also been on the jury for various awards for AdClub’s EMVIES, EFFIES, ABBYs; IAMAI Digital awards and DMAi awards. 

She has done her masters with a specialization in marketing from Sydenham Institute of Mgmt & Research, University of Mumbai and holds a passion for academics. Besides teaching in SP Jain Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai as Guest Faculty, she also enjoys mentoring e-commerce start-ups.
