ICRA appoints Jayanta Chatterjee as MD & CEO

Before being named MD and CEO, Jayanta Chatterjee served ICRA as the executive vice president and head of strategic & emerging corporates group.
ICRA appoints Jayanta Chatterjee as MD & CEO

ICRA has announced the appointment of Jayanta Chatterjee as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ICRA Analytics Limited (IAL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of ICRA. Effective September 14, Chatterjee has succeeded Sushmita Ghatak, who is leaving the organisation to pursue other opportunities.

As MD and CEO, Chatterjee will be responsible for shaping business strategies, aligned with the group's objectives, product and revenue diversification, and business transformation.

Before being named MD and CEO, Chatterjee held various senior positions including across different functions at ICRA during his tenure of 28 years. In his most immediate role, Chatterjee served ICRA as the executive vice president and head of strategic & emerging corporates group.

A Mechanical Engineering graduate from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, Chatterjee has done his Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta.

Speaking on the appointment, Ramnath Krishnan, MD & Group CEO at ICRA, said: "Jayanta brings a very rich and varied experience to the table. With this experience, his familiarity with the market needs and extensive customer connections in the risk analytics space, I believe he can add tremendous value. This will help immensely in growing our non-ratings businesses and in diversifying the revenue streams, consistent with our Strategic Objectives."
