The company announced that holding company's shareholders approved the nomination for Koo to get the baton of his family business.
LG appoints new CEO

South Korea’s consumer durable brand LG has appointed the new Executive Chairman and CEO. Koo Kwang-mo who is the fourth generation leader of his family business was given the responsibility on Friday, June 29th. 

The company announced that holding company’s shareholders approved the nomination for Koo to get the baton of his family business.  Koo’s appointment came after his father and ex Chairman Koo Bon-moo died last month. 

A media report quoted Koo, on this development. He said, "I will preserve and develop LG's assets, such as creation of customer value, respect for human beings and transparent management.”

He also mentioned that he would improve what needs to be changed and do his best to expand the growth base from a long-term perspective.

The South Korean company has a strong foothold in India and recently completed 21 years of operation in the country.
