The digital learning firm brings in a veteran HR leader to steer global people strategy as it scales AI-led education services.

Magic EdTech has appointed Runu Jain as its chief human resources officer, strengthening its leadership team as the company expands its global footprint and AI-driven education offerings.

The New York–based digital learning firm said Jain will lead its global people strategy, with responsibility for talent development, organisational design and culture across operations in the United States, India, the United Kingdom and other markets.

Jain brings more than 25 years of experience in human resources leadership, having held senior roles at companies including Birlasoft, IBM, Genpact, Federal Express, Amway and RPG Enterprises. Her background spans workforce planning, leadership development, employee engagement and large-scale culture transformation.

Magic EdTech said Jain’s appointment comes at a time when the company is scaling its AI-enabled solutions and broadening its services portfolio across accessibility, data and platform engineering for education.

“Magic’s growth has been driven by learning outcomes and the people behind them,” chief executive Acky Kamdar said in a statement, adding that the company needed a people strategy aligned with its next phase of expansion.

In her new role, Jain will focus on strengthening the company’s global talent pipeline, building leadership capability and advancing programmes aimed at inclusion, engagement and long-term career development. She will work closely with the executive team to align people practices with strategic priorities in AI, accessibility and technology-led learning.

Jain said she was joining the company at a time when education and technology were converging rapidly, and that her priority would be creating an environment where employees could grow their skills while contributing to meaningful learning outcomes.

The leadership change coincides with Magic EdTech marking 35 years in digital learning. The company has been expanding internationally, opening new offices in locations including London and Indore, and deepening partnerships with AI and cloud technology providers.

As competition intensifies in the global edtech market, the appointment signals Magic EdTech’s intent to back its growth ambitions with a sharper focus on people strategy and organisational capability.
