MRG Group has appointed Amitesh Osta as its new Chief Human Resource Officer, bolstering its leadership bench as the hospitality group positions itself for the next phase of growth.
The company said the move reflects its focus on building a strong people strategy to support expansion in the competitive hospitality sector. Dr K. Prakash Shetty, founder and chairman of MRG Group, called Osta’s appointment “an important step” in reinforcing the Group’s long-term vision.
Diverse experience across industries

Industry peers credit him with expertise in succession planning, talent development, merger integration and digital HR transformation.

Company perspectives
Commenting on the appointment, Dr Shetty said people remain “at the heart” of MRG Group’s success. “As we expand our footprint and prepare for the next phase of growth, it is imperative that we continue to invest in building a strong and agile workforce,” he noted. “Amitesh’s wealth of experience in leading HR transformation and creating scalable people strategies makes him an ideal fit to drive our vision forward.”
Osta described his new role as an opportunity to help shape the Group’s next chapter. “I am delighted to join MRG Group at such a pivotal stage of its journey,” he said. “My priority will be to create a high-performing, inclusive and engaged workforce that enables the Group to deliver on its ambitious growth plans and further elevate its position in the Indian hospitality landscape.”
Strengthening leadership capacity
The appointment underlines MRG Group’s emphasis on talent as a strategic asset. The company said Osta will be central to building leadership capability, embedding agile HR systems and aligning workplace culture with its long-term ambitions.
By drawing on Osta’s cross-industry experience, the Group aims to strengthen its succession pipeline and advance its goal of becoming a leading name in hospitality.
