Naxatra Labs appoints Vijay Nair as Head – HR & Administration

Naxatra Labs, a deeptech startup focused on electric motor design and manufacturing, has appointed Vijay Nair as Head – Human Resources and Administration, as the company scales operations following recent funding.

The appointment was announced by the company, marking a leadership addition aimed at strengthening people management and administrative governance amid growth.

Nair brings over three decades of experience across human resources leadership, administration and organisational governance, having worked with organisations across multiple sectors. His expertise spans workforce management, compliance, people development and building structured administrative systems.

Prior to joining Naxatra Labs, Nair served as Head – HR & Administration at the International Centre of Entrepreneurship and Technology (iCreate), where he was responsible for HR strategy and institutional operations, according to people familiar with his career.

Founded in 2021 by Abhilash Maurya, Arnav Biswas and Piyush Verma, Naxatra Labs designs and manufactures high-efficiency electric motors for electric vehicles and industrial applications. The company operates in the deeptech segment, focusing on indigenous motor technology aimed at improving efficiency and performance.

The appointment comes shortly after the startup raised $3 million in a pre-Series A funding round led by Rainmatter, as it looks to expand manufacturing capability and accelerate product development.

As Naxatra Labs moves into its next phase of growth, strengthening leadership in human resources and administration is expected to support workforce scaling, operational discipline and long-term organisational stability.
