PepsiCo has elevated Monica Sanchez y Madrid to Senior Director HR for Global Commercial and New Revenue Streams, expanding her role within the company’s international operations.

Sanchez y Madrid announced her new position in March 2026, marking a progression in her more than decade-long tenure at the food and beverage major.

Expanded mandate across global functions

In her new role, she will oversee HR for PepsiCo’s international commercial function and emerging revenue streams, reflecting the company’s focus on integrating commercial, data and platform capabilities to drive growth.

The elevation comes as large consumer goods companies increasingly restructure their commercial models to align with digital transformation, data-led decision-making and new business lines.

A decade-long career at PepsiCo

Sanchez y Madrid has spent over ten years at PepsiCo in a range of senior HR leadership roles across geographies.

Most recently, she served as Senior Director, Talent Management – International, where she led talent strategy across Latin America, Europe, Asia Pacific and the Middle East.

Prior to that, she was Senior Director, Workforce Management for Latin America, where she led regional workforce transformation initiatives and HR operations.

Her earlier roles at PepsiCo include leading HR shared services and talent acquisition functions, building experience across both strategic and operational HR domains.

Experience across global organisations

Before rejoining PepsiCo, Sanchez y Madrid held HR leadership roles at Diageo and Kraft Foods, where she worked on talent management, compensation and HR business partnering.

Her career spans more than two decades, with a focus on talent strategy, workforce planning and organisational development across multinational environments.

Focus on organisational transformation

In recent commentary, Sanchez y Madrid highlighted the growing need for organisations to rethink how commercial ecosystems are structured.

She noted that AI, data and digital platforms are reshaping how businesses operate, requiring new capabilities, operating models and leadership approaches.

She also emphasised the importance of integrating traditionally siloed functions — including commercial, data, insights and talent — to build more adaptive organisations.

Looking ahead

The elevation reflects PepsiCo’s continued emphasis on aligning HR leadership with business transformation, particularly as companies explore new revenue streams and digitally enabled growth models.

As global consumer companies navigate shifting demand patterns and technological change, HR leaders are increasingly expected to play a central role in shaping organisational capability and performance.
