Piramal Realty has appointed Kalyan Chakrabarti as CFO

Former GE executive Kalyan Chakrabarti shall focus on business finance, corporate strategy, finance operations, cost leadership and profitability as he takes on the role to lead the group’s finance agenda.
Piramal Realty has appointed Kalyan Chakrabarti as CFO

Piramal Realty has roped in Kalyan Chakrabarti, a financial professional with more than 23 years of experience as its Group Chief Financial Officer. 

Speaking on the recent CFO appointment with People Matters, Naaman Atallah, CEO, Piramal Realty said, “We are delighted to welcome Kalyan, who comes with a great knowledge in business finance. Kalyan has expertise on financial strategy and analytics, a combination that shall position us well as we build business of the future.”

Most recently, Chakrabarti was working as the Chief Operating Officer of Real Estate Financing in Edelweiss. Previously, he has also worked extensively and contributed towards the growth of leading real estate asset management firms like Red Fort Capital and Rising Straits Capital, with investments in Indian residential and commercial segments across the capital spectrum. He has worn many hats at the firms and has also served as a Member of the Executive Council, Board Member of investee companies, and played a role of a mentor to leverage the team to the best of its abilities.

He was also part of General Electric for more than nine years (1999-2008). He operated out of India and the United Kingdom besides spending time on stints in the USA, France, Germany and Ireland.

Now as Chakrabarti takes on a new role, he shared with People Matters his excitement for this new opportunity. “Excited about the opportunity to be part of the journey to create value in a space which is close to my heart and the group has interesting plans for,” he said. 

As the new financial leader of the company, he will focus on business finance, corporate strategy, finance operations, cost leadership and profitability as he takes on the role to lead the group’s finance agenda. 

“The world of real estate and the world of finance are going through some really unique and interesting moments and I believe, the next two to three years shall lead to sharp differentiation between the top players from the rest. I look forward to being part of the team which would take it there,” shared Chakrabarti. 

With Chakrabarti at the helm, Piramal Realty will be hoping to leverage his vast expertise to achieve its larger goals and build a cutting edge finance function.
