The former Reliance Retail HR leader takes charge of talent and organisation strategy at the diversified Jumbo Group.
Shathi Sharma has joined Jumbo Group as its chief human resources officer, marking a senior leadership appointment as the group sharpens its focus on talent, leadership and employee experience.
The company said Sharma will lead the human resources function across Jumbo Group’s businesses, with responsibility for talent strategy, organisational development, leadership capability building and employee experience.
Sharma joins Jumbo Group from Reliance Retail, where she served as vice president for human resources. During her tenure, she worked closely with several consumer-facing and digital-first brands, including AJIO and SHEIN, supporting workforce expansion and organisational integration.
An MBA in human resource management, Sharma brings more than two decades of experience across retail, fashion, telecommunications, financial services and diversified consumer businesses. She began her career at GE in Gurgaon in 2002 before moving to Emirates NBD in Dubai as a manager.
In 2005, she joined Madura Fashion & Lifestyle in a retail HR role, later moving to Telenor as circle HR head. During her three-year stint there, she played a key role in building and retaining talent while supporting organisational growth and profitability.
Sharma took on the role of head of HR at Landmark Group in 2011, where she spent seven years leading the transformation of the HR function and deepening its integration with business operations. From 2018 to 2021, she served as chief human resources officer at Modenik Lifestyle, based in Bengaluru.
She joined Reliance Retail in May 2021, working across multiple consumer and digital-led portfolios as the retailer scaled its fashion and e-commerce businesses.
At Jumbo Group, Sharma’s mandate will include strengthening leadership pipelines and building a cohesive people framework across the group, as companies increasingly place human capital at the centre of growth and competitiveness strategies.
