Sigachi brings in Atul Dhavle as chief people officer amid expansion

Sigachi Industries has appointed Atul Dhavle as its chief people officer, strengthening its senior leadership team as the pharmaceutical excipients and active pharmaceutical ingredients maker expands across businesses and geographies.

The Hyderabad-based company said Dhavle will work closely with the board and leadership team to align human capital strategy with Sigachi’s long-term growth objectives. His mandate includes strengthening leadership capability, shaping organisational design, aligning talent development with business priorities, and reinforcing governance and people processes.

In the role, Dhavle is also expected to play a key part in maintaining cultural coherence and organisational resilience as Sigachi scales its operations, while fostering accountability, engagement and trust across the organisation.

Welcoming the appointment, Lijo Chacko, deputy group chief executive of Sigachi Industries, said Dhavle’s experience in building scalable people and leadership systems would be an asset for the company. He added that Dhavle’s ability to combine strategic clarity with disciplined execution would help deepen leadership capability and support sustainable growth.

Commenting on his appointment, Dhavle said he looked forward to working with Sigachi’s leadership team to build a strong, people-centric organisation.

Dhavle brings nearly three decades of experience in human capital leadership, with expertise spanning organisational design, talent and capability development, and operational excellence across large-scale change initiatives in complex, multi-location environments. He joins Sigachi from Granules India, where he served as chief human resources officer and led transformation initiatives across manufacturing sites, research and development, and corporate functions.

Over the course of his career, Dhavle has held senior leadership roles at companies including Bharat Forge, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, DuPont Fibers and Mahindra, giving him broad exposure across industrial and pharmaceutical sectors.

Sigachi Industries is a global manufacturer of pharmaceutical excipients and APIs, with manufacturing facilities across Telangana, Gujarat and Karnataka, and subsidiaries in the UAE and the United States. The appointment underscores the company’s focus on strengthening organisational capability as it pursues growth across regulated markets.
