SMECorner’s HR Head Pratik Soyantar joins Light Finance as CHRO

Light MicroFinance, a non-banking finance firm, has announced the immediate appointment of Pratik Soyantar as its Chief Human Resources Officer.

Bringing over 15 years of core BFSI expertise, including HRBP, talent acquisition, and HR transformation & strategy, Pratik was formerly the Head of HR at SMECorner. In his new role, he takes on the responsibilities of Anuja Kochhar, the former VP of HR and Admin who departed the company in September 2023 to join Tipson Financial Services as Group CHRO. Pratik's purview includes change management, people development, business strategy, leadership, building workplace culture, and other facets of human capital management.

With a professional history that includes roles such as Head of Human Resources at SMEcorner, National Head of Talent Acquisition at Kotak Mahindra Bank, and Senior Partner of Human Capital Management at YES Bank, Pratik also brings experience from HDFC Bank, Videocon Industries, and Eureka Forbes.

Describing Pratik as a dynamic leader admired for his optimism, analytical mindset, and people-centric approach, the company highlighted his vast expertise in stakeholder management, HR policies, system & process implementation, employee engagement, and organizational culture. The company expressed confidence that his expertise will be instrumental in fostering a thriving and inclusive work environment at Light.

Pratik, who holds an MBA in HR and Marketing from Sikkim Manipal University, will oversee HR functions not only for the microfinance company's headquarters in Ahmedabad but also for over 200 branches spread across Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Jharkhand. His strategic leadership skills are expected to play a pivotal role in driving organizational growth and enriching the experience of over 3,000 employees.
