Sonal Tayal steps into the HR leadership role as Livspace aligns its people strategy with its next phase of growth.

Livspace has appointed long-time business leader Sonal Tayal as its Head of Human Resources, marking a significant internal elevation at the home interiors and renovation firm. The company said the move reflects her decade-long contribution across multiple functions and her role in shaping its operational and talent engines.

Tayal has been closely involved in Livspace’s expansion from an early-stage venture to a category leader in the fragmented interiors market. Over ten years, she has worked across design, sales, operations, strategy and workforce development, giving her a rare end-to-end view of the business. Most recently, she led Supply Sourcing & Development, where she scaled a workforce of design and project professionals and strengthened the company’s partner ecosystem.

Her earlier assignments included platform growth and strategy, sales operations and running the company’s Delhi-NCR business. Prior to joining Livspace, she held roles at Godrej Interio, Meinhardt Group, Zeppelin Design & Environments and Omaxe Limited, experience that deepened her understanding of design, engineering, interiors and real estate. Livspace said this integrated background now underpins her approach to people leadership.

Ramakant Sharma, founder and chief executive of Livspace, said the appointment aligns with the company’s next phase of expansion. He noted that Tayal’s experience moving across functions gives her “a lived understanding of how the business scales,” adding that her ability to build systems and develop talent has directly supported growth across markets. Sharma said the HR function is becoming increasingly central to the business as Livspace seeks to build motivated, capable teams in a people-intensive industry.

Tayal said her elevation marks a “natural progression” after a decade spent working across varied functions. She said HR and business must operate as one to support performance, culture and employee development. Her immediate priorities include building skilled teams aligned with Livspace’s long-term ambition and working with leaders to strengthen talent systems that support the company’s growth trajectory.

An alumna of the Indian School of Business, Tayal is known internally for her focus on solving complex challenges and building agile teams with strong execution discipline. Her appointment comes as Livspace expands across India, the Middle East and Singapore, supported by a technology-led model that aims to standardise design-to-delivery execution in a historically unorganised sector.

With the company planning for continued market growth, Tayal’s transition into HR leadership positions the function at the centre of Livspace’s next phase, linking talent development, culture and operational ambition more tightly than before.
