The food delivery platform, Swiggy, has hired Rohit Kapoor as the CEO of its food delivery business. Kapoor, who is currently working as Oyo’s global chief marketing officer, will be the first CEO of Softbank and Prosus-backed Swiggy. He will report to Swiggy founder and CEO Sriharsha Majety. 

According to VC Circle, for the first time, Swiggy has appointed a CEO for its food delivery business. Rohit Kapoor, who is currently serving his notice period at Oyo, will soon be taking up his new role at Swiggy. However, both Swiggy and Oyo have declined to comment on the same. 

Rohit Kapoor joined the Indian multinational hospitality chain Oyo back in December 2018 as the chief executive officer of the startup’s real estate business. He was later appointed the global marketing officer at Oyo in April 2022. Kapoor is an alumnus of the Indian School of Business. Prior to his appointment at Oyo, he was the Executive Director at Max Healthcare for five years.

Since its inception, the food delivery business has grown large enough and now needs a CEO. The head of Swiggy’s Instamart business is Karthik Gurumurthy, Senior Vice President.
