Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a leading Indian IT firm, has appointed industry veteran Elizabeth Mathew as the head of TCS LeaD, a diversity program, according to media reports.

Mathew, who joined TCS in 1989 and held several key leadership roles in the HR function, currently serves as the Head of Leadership Development programs. She focuses on developing leadership, business skills, and cultural capabilities across different organizational levels within a robust learning ecosystem.

In her new role as the Head of TCS LeaD, Mathew will be responsible for promoting diversity and leadership at the senior level.

Announcing Mathew’s appointment via a company-wide email, Milind Lakkad, Executive Vice President and Head of HR at TCS, stated, “I am pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Elizabeth Mathew (Liz) as the head of TCS LeaD. Liz takes over from Anant Haidale, who, after a successful stint in HR, has moved to a leadership role in the Manufacturing Business Group. She will nurture leadership talent and oversee diversity and inclusion initiatives within the organization.”

Additionally, Preeti D'Mello, Head of Diversity and Inclusion, and Brinda R, Head of Leadership Careers, will report to Mathew.

Mathew’s appointment follows a series of leadership changes as announced by CEO K Krithivasan, who was appointed as CEO and MD of TCS in June 2023.

Since June 2023, the IT firm has been implementing new workplace initiatives. Recently, CHRO Lakkad announced the hiring of 40,000 new talents, assured no layoffs, and encouraged employees to return to the office.
