Unilever has expanded Prateek Shrivastav’s remit, placing him in charge of HR for its Personal Care Business and organisation effectiveness.

Unilever has elevated Prateek Shrivastav to Head of HR for its Personal Care Business (PCB) and Organisation Effectiveness Centre of Excellence, broadening his leadership role within the company’s global people function.

The appointment was announced by the company, marking a consolidation of HR leadership across one of Unilever’s largest businesses and its organisation effectiveness agenda.

In his expanded mandate, Shrivastav will oversee the HR strategy for the Personal Care Business while continuing to lead organisation effectiveness initiatives. His remit spans culture, capability building, leadership development and performance frameworks, closely tied to business priorities and growth plans.

Shrivastav is a long-serving HR leader at Unilever with experience across talent management, organisational design, workforce transformation and HR operations. Over the years, he has held several senior roles within the company, contributing to enterprise-wide talent strategies, capability architecture and structural interventions aimed at improving execution and decision-making.

His work has focused on helping leaders and teams operate in complex, fast-changing environments, with an emphasis on data-led HR practices, inclusive leadership and long-term capability development, the company said.

The leadership move comes as consumer goods companies place sharper focus on HR’s role in driving performance and adaptability. With margin pressures, evolving consumer demand and faster innovation cycles, HR leaders are increasingly expected to shape organisational clarity and leadership readiness within core businesses.

In his new role, Shrivastav is expected to work closely with business leaders to strengthen employee experience, reinforce leadership pipelines and embed people practices that support both strategic intent and operational discipline.

Unilever’s decision reflects a broader trend across the FMCG sector, where senior HR leaders are being entrusted with wider, business-critical mandates as companies recalibrate for growth and organisational resilience.
