VRC Group appoints Dr Devender Sharma as Executive Director – HR

Infrastructure firm VRC Group appoints veteran HR leader Dr Devender Sharma to lead people strategy as the company expands its operations.
VRC Group has appointed Dr Devender Sharma as Executive Director – Human Resources, strengthening its leadership team as the infrastructure and construction company expands operations across India.
The appointment was announced recently, with Dr Sharma confirming the move in a public update. In his new role, he will oversee the group’s human resources strategy, governance frameworks and talent development initiatives, aligning workforce management with the company’s long-term growth plans.
Dr Sharma brings more than three decades of experience in human resources leadership across sectors including infrastructure, manufacturing and automotive.
Before joining VRC Group, he served as Founder and Managing Director of DeReCo Corp Private Limited, an HR consulting firm that provides recruitment, staffing management, training and business advisory services to companies across industries.
According to information shared on his professional profile, Dr Sharma has also held senior HR leadership roles across several major organisations, including Okinawa Scooters & Motorcycles, BGCC Infra and Galfar Engineering. In these roles, he led large-scale HR transformation initiatives, implemented structured performance management systems and strengthened organisational governance.
Experience across global and Indian companies
Earlier in his career, Dr Sharma served as General Manager – HR at Ashok Leyland, where he oversaw HR operations for white-collar employees across India.
He also held leadership positions at Samsung Electronics, LML Limited, SICPA India and DSC Limited, building expertise in industrial relations, workforce planning and organisational development.
Industry executives say leaders with long experience across manufacturing and infrastructure sectors often play a critical role in managing labour relations, strengthening compliance frameworks and building large workforce capabilities in project-driven businesses.
Dr Sharma holds a doctorate in human resource management and has worked extensively on HR systems, talent management frameworks and performance-driven organisational cultures.

At VRC Group, Dr Sharma is expected to lead the company’s workforce planning, talent management and organisational development initiatives as the company continues to expand its project portfolio.
His responsibilities include strengthening HR policies, overseeing recruitment and training programmes, managing employee engagement and ensuring compliance with labour and statutory frameworks.
The appointment comes as infrastructure and engineering companies across India increasingly invest in structured HR leadership to manage complex projects, large workforces and regulatory requirements.
