Atlassian expands its India footprint with new R&D centre in Bengaluru

The new office joins Atlassian’s network of globally distributed workplaces and strengthens its presence in the broader Asia-Pacific region.

Atlassian, the global provider of collaboration and productivity software including Jira, Confluence, and Loom, has announced the launch of a new R&D Centre in Bengaluru, reinforcing India’s role as a cornerstone of its global growth strategy. 

Since entering India in 2018 with a 60-member team, Atlassian has grown its local workforce to over 2,500 employees, making it the company’s largest base outside Australia and the US. Nearly 75% of its India workforce is engaged in R&D, contributing to core areas like enterprise search, commerce, data residency, and customer success.

The new R&D in Bengaluru, reflects Atlassian’s continued commitment to India and deepening its investment in the region as a strategic R&D hub. The new R&D Centre of Atlassian features flexible workstations, collaborative zones, wellness areas, and cutting-edge technology to support hybrid teams and foster seamless collaboration across time zones.
