Anand Mahindra, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd. was chosen as the Business Leader of the Year by the jury of ET Awards 2009. Mahindra beat State Bank of India’s OP Bhatt, who was the other contender for the award, for his remarkable achievement in the fields of technology and automobiles. In addition to that the other factor that went in favor of Anand Mahindra to bag the prestigious award was the boldness displayed by him in his decision to acquire the scam hit Satyam Computers. Jury also credited Mahindra for making Mahindra & Mahindra a leader in Indian tractor and utility vehicle markets.
