Ex-Snapdeal HR Head Saurabh Nigam to join Omidyar Network

Saurabh Nigam, the former Snapdeal human resources head, will now be joining investment firm Omidyar Network as Vice President - Human Capital, and would lead the HR function there with effect from June 12.

He would be based out of Bangalore, and would play the role of an in-house subject matter expert, while supporting their portfolio companies in India with respect to people practices.

Saurabh would be reporting to Roopa Kudva, who is the Partner and Managing Director, India at Omidyar Network.

People Matters had earlier reported about Saurabh Nigam’s resignation from Snapdeal. At the time, Saurabh had said that he would “continue to work towards creating innovative people practices”, and that he would "do so on a much broader canvas across different industries”.

Saurabh has extensive experience in a full spectrum of business operations in diverse industries including high-tech, legal, and startups. Prior to Snapdeal, he led the human resources efforts globally, for Beroe Inc for four years. Saurabh has also worked with the Aditya Birla Group for three years, wherein he essayed multiple roles within the HR domain, be it Head of Talent Acquisition & Sales HR, or Head of Compensation & Benefits (Birla Sunlife Distribution).

A management graduate from XLRI Jamshedpur, Saurabh holds the SPHR, GPHR and HRMP certifications from SHRM, USA - being the only Indian, and one among the first 10 people globally, to hold these three certifications simultaneously. He has been awarded with the ‘Tech HR Leader of the Year Award’ at the World HRD Congress 2017, and the ‘Young HR Manager of the Year Award’ at the IHRD National HR Conference in 2012.
