Gujarat policemen take management lessons to improve image
Policemen in India’s western state of Gujarat are taking lessons in Public Relations and Mass Management in order to change their image from rude and often ruthless law enforcers to cheerful and friendly public servants. This change of heart comes after 22 policemen were suspended in recent times for misbehaving with the public. Police officers, especially those at junior levels have now started taking lessons in Mass Management. According to news reports, some have even sought the suggestions of management professors while others have joined PR learning institutes. This follows a recent departmental order in which cops have been told to ensure immediate relief to the victims.
