Jet Airways (India) Ltd, the country’s second largest airline by passengers carried, said Friday that Nikos Kardassis resigned as chief executive officer (CEO) with effect from 5 June, Mint reported.

Jet Airways (India) Ltd, the country’s second largest airline by passengers carried, said Friday that Nikos Kardassis resigned as chief executive officer (CEO) with effect from 5 June, Mint reported.

The Mumbai-based airline said chief operating officer Hameed Ali will be the “acting chief executive officer” until a replacement is found.

“The board recognizes the significant contributions made by Kardassis over five years to enable the company to secure its leadership position in the aviation industry and greatly appreciates his efforts,” the company said in a statement.
