HT Media CEO steps down after 14 years.

After working with the group for fourteen years he has decided to step down. The media group has initiated the process of identifying his successor.

After working with the HT Media Group for fourteen years, senior media industry veteran Rajiv Verma has stepped down from his position.  According to the corporate announcement of HT Media in the Bombay Stock Exchange, the board of directors announced the resignation of Rajiv Verma as CEO.

Verma will continue in his current role till his successor joins. Post the new CEO joining, Verma would continue to remain associated with the Company in an advisory role. The media group has initiated the process of identifying his successor.

Rajiv Verma joined HT Media as CEO in 2004. Under his leadership, HT has taken giant strides in various businesses such as growing the vernacular segment with Hindustan or creating big national brands – Mint, Fever 104, Shine.com. Verma has been responsible for the focus on new business, like events and key marketing solutions, ad for equity, and education, as well as major international collaborations with partners like Virgin Radio, Burda, The Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post.

Verma brings with him over 30 years of cross-sectoral experience with companies like Hindustan Lever, Nestle and Whirlpool. His international experience spans South East Asia and Europe.

He is a Mechanical Engineer from Delhi College of Engineering. He is also on the Board of Governors, BITS Pilani.
