Jubliant FoodWorks joins hands with Dunkin
With India’s fast food industry growing by leaps and bounds, another global name is ready to penetrate the Indian market. Market reports reveal that Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd that runs pizza chain Dominio’s in India has partnered with US based coffee and snack chain, Dunkin Donuts. Dunkin Donuts is owned by private-equity firms Carlyle Group, Thomas H. Lee Partners and Bain Capital and currently has 9,700 restaurants in 31 countries. Jubliant FoodWorks gets ready to open Dunkin’ Donuts branded franchisee stores in India. Jubilant plans to roll out its first Dunkin’ store in India early next year and will open about 30 stores in the first three years of operations. Dunkin’ Donuts, is known primarily as a breakfast chain in the United States, but will offer an all-day dining experience in India.
The Indian fast-food sector is growing at approximately 25 to 30% a year with economy expanding at nearly 9%, the news could not have come at a better time. A must mention is the increased purchasing power of students today who are aware of global brands and do not hesitate to try it out.
