Noel Tata appointed Trent chairman
Tata Group company Trent Ltd, which operates retail chains like Star Bazaar and Westside, on Monday announced the appointment of vice-chairman Noel Tata as chairman. Tata takes over from F.K. Kavarana, who has been chairman since 2006. Kavarana stepped down from the company’s board of directors on 30 March and Tata takes on his new role immediately, Trent said in a statement to BSE. On 21 March, Trent and British supermarket chain Tesco Plc signed an agreement to form a 50:50 joint venture for supermarket outlets.
