PFRDA chief resigns

Chairman of the Pension Fund Regulatory & Development Authority (PFRDA), Yogesh Agarwal, resigned from his position after completing 3 of his 5 years in office. News reports say that the move could be prompted by the finance ministry’s probe into appointments made by Agarwal. In his statement, Agarwal stated that he has stepped down without any reason. Anup Wadhawan, a joint secretary in the finance ministry, will act as interim chairman of the pension regulator.
