According to a Financial Express report Phaneesh Murthy will offer consultancy services in areas like business strategy and restructuring. Murthy was sacked from iGate as its CEO over a scandal resulting from not disclosing a sexual relationship with a colleague. The report quoted Murthy as saying, "I hope to work with technology firms, which has been a significant part of my life." Before iGate, he was with Infosys, his career there came to an abrupt end after a sexual harassment case in 2002 in the US.

The report added that Murthy has sued iGate in a California court, contesting the basis of terminating his employment contract.
