Chief human resources officer Prabir Jha, who joined the company two years ago, put in place a five-day week, increased leave entitlements and sought to modernise performance management and appraisal processes.

Jha was brought in to bring in some drastic changes in quick phases and that mandate is over, said a company executive on condition of anonymity. The search for a replacement has begun, the person said. One human resources head wondered whether he had tried to do too much too soon at the Mukesh Ambani-led company.
