According to the latest media report, Mukesh Ambani has announced that that it would invest 2,500 crore in Assam. The investment areas include retail, petroleum, tourism, and sports, among others.

He has been reported to have said, “Today I am happy to announce five commitments for Assam over the next three years. Reliance will invest an additional Rs 2,500 crore to augment its presence in this market,” at the Global Investor Summit 2018.

He also went to on to state that Reliance would be opening new offices across 145 tehsils in Assam, and that Reliance has always aimed at creating sustainable livelihood opportunities and have already generated 20,000 jobs.

Reliance plans also extend its CSR initiatives about which Ambani said that the firm would be partnering with ‘wildlife protection and eco-tourism’ in Assam.

Sarbananda Sonowal, who is the Chief Minister of Assam and organized the ‘Global Investors Summit 2018’ said that Assam’s global potential was limitless and that Assam in the 50s had developed state with the per capita income more than the national average.

During the summit, Ambani commented that the Narendra Modi government had presented one of the best budgets in the recent times.
