Sanjay Kapoor, CEO, Bharti Airtel India, puts in his papers

Bharti Airtel’s CEO (India and South Asia) Sanjay Kapoor has put in his papers and will be leaving the company on February 28, 2013 after a stint of 15 years. With Kapoor’s exit, Bharti has put in place an organisational restructuring wherein Gopal Vittal, who rejoined the company in April 2012 as group director (special projects) will take over as CEO (India). He will report to Bharti Airtel chairman and managing director Sunil Mittal.

With Kapoor’s exit, Bharti has put in place an organisational restructuring wherein Gopal Vittal, who rejoined the company in April 2012 as group director (special projects) will take over as CEO (India). He will report to Bharti Airtel chairman and managing director Sunil Mittal.

Kapoor will, however continue his association with the Bharti group as a director on the board of Indus Towers and Bharti Global. To ensure a smooth transition process, he will be available to assist the management on key matters until March 31, 2013.
