Search for next Infosys CEO

Infosys has started the search for its first non-founder CEO by appointing two agencies whose job is to fill a vacancy for one of the most challenging assignments in corporate India. While the job description — heading a company with sales last year of $7.4 billion and market value of nearly Rs 1.9 lakh crore — is an alluring one, analysts and observers said much will depend on the ability of the candidate to win the trust of founder-chairman NR Narayana Murthy. The Bangalore-based company said in a statement that it has appointed US-based Development Dimensions International, a specialist in executive evaluations, to present the nominations committee of the board with a slew of internal candidates. Executive search firm Egon Zehnder will come up with a shortlist of external candidates.
