Ambani, Mittal join PM, Sonia in '500 Most Powerful People' list

Mukesh Ambani , Chairman and CEO of Reliance Industries ltd and Lakshmi Niwas Mittal, Chairman and CEO of Arcelor Mittal are the two Indian industrialists among 16 Indians who feature in the list of 500 most powerful people on the planet released by the Foreign Policy magazine. The Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi have also found a place in the prestigious list.

Mukesh Ambani , Chairman and CEO of Reliance Industries ltd and Lakshmi Niwas Mittal, Chairman and CEO of Arcelor Mittal are the two Indian industrialists among 16 Indians who feature in the list of 500 most powerful people on the planet released by the Foreign Policy magazine. The Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi have also found a place in the prestigious list.

Others are finance minister P. Chidambaram, defence minister A. K. Antony , external affairs minister Salman Khurshid , BJP leader Sushma Swaraj , Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit, president of Medecins Sans Frontieres, Unni Karunakara, the mayor of Mumbai, Sunil Prabhu, general secretary of Amnesty International, Salil Shetty along with spiritual leaders Baba Ramdev and Sri Sri Ravishankar.

India's top most intelligence official Alok Joshi of Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) and National Security Advisor Shivshankar Menon have also featured among the 500 most powerful people on the planet.
