Uber India has announced the appointment of Pradeep Parameswaran, former CEO of cable firm DEN Networks as the head of central operations. He will be reporting Amit Jain, president of Uber India.

One of the spokesperson of Uber reported to media,

We are excited to have Pradeep Parameswaran join Uber India as the head of central operations. Parameswaran is passionate about technology-led transformation and brings a wealth of experience having worked for companies across the technology value chain".

According to Parameswran’s LinkedIn profile, he has more than 15 years of experience spanning work in the US, Asia Pacific and Africa. He has worked in a wide array of companies such as cable TV distribution company DEN Networks Pvt. Ltd., consultancy firm McKinsey & Co and FMCG major Hindustan Unilever Ltd. He is an engineering graduate from the University of Mumbai and holds a business administration degree in operations from Vanderbilt University.

Uber had been frequently beefing up its leadership team. Last week, Uber appointed former Google search head Amit Singhal as senior vice president of engineering.

The San Francisco based company started building a local team gradually with a country head name Amit Jain being appointed last year. The company which is valued at over $62 billion has committed to invest $1 billion In India last July 2015. Travis Kalanick, Uber Founder said that this gigantic number could surpass either the US or China.
