UltraTech’s Gautam Chainani is speculated to join JSW Group as its group president, human resources as reported by ET. 

Chainani will be completing his tenure of 8 years with the Aditya Birla Group’s cement company UltraTech on September 30. Although his resignation from ABG has been confirmed, there is yet no confirmation on his new appointment by JSW.

At UltraTech, he was mainly responsible for directing, leading, guiding human resources strategy and practices to drive in new business across domains like Life Insurance, Asset Management, Wealth Management, Retail Financial Distribution, Insurance Broking, Private Equity & Infrastructure Finance. Prior to joining UltraTech, he was vice president for human resources with credit card firm American Express.  

He brings in extensive experience of working with a manufacturing and labor-intensive industry which makes him a right fit for the Sajjan-Jindal led group, according to sources. Chainani is a post graduate in PM and IR and has over 20 years of business and HR experience. 

JSW Group is also said to have hired Dheeraj Sinha from Apollo Tyres in July as group chief information officer replacing Nikhil Chaturvedi who left the conglomerate to rejoin SAP in May. The HR department at JSW Group is busy in implementing many strategic and innovative approaches like building new work culture, incorporating second line of talent and creating leadership development programs. These are being executed as a part of revamping the organization to escalate it to the next level.
