Unilever COO Harish Manwani to retire in Dec
FMCG giant Unilever’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) Harish Manwani is to retire from his current position on December 31. Manwani will, however, continue to be the non-Executive Chairman of the Anglo-Dutch firm’s Indian unit Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL). Manwani, who joined as a management trainee in 1976, was elevated to the newly created position of COO only three years ago. In a way, he was the first COO of Unilever. He joined the HUL Board of Directors in 1995. He was appointed to the Unilever Executive as President, Asia, Africa, Middle East in 2005. The role was later expanded to include Central and Eastern Europe.
