Essar Steel announced the appointment of Firdose A. Vandrevala as an executive vice chairman for the company with effect from Aug 12. Vandrevala, was earlier associated with Tata Group for over three decades in various executive positions, News Track India reported.

Vandrevala joins Essar Steel from HIRCO, a construction and real estate giant, where he served as a chairman and managing director. Before shifting to Tata Power, he was the deputy managing director of Tata Steel. After Tata Group, he had joined Motorola India as chairman.
