Mumbai/New Delhi: Day 1 of IIT placements kicked off with a bang on Tuesday with international recruiters rolling out close to 40 offers with salaries of over $100,000 (Rs66 lakh).

A clutch of companies including Oracle, Microsoft, Google, Visa and US-based employmentrelated search engine Indeed rolled out international offers with a base pay of at least $100,000 — not including relocation, joining bonus or Esops. Factoring the variable component into the equation — including Esops —  the total packages offered by some companies like Google were as high as Rs2 crore. Early indications, IIT sources said, suggest that this year will see a significant growth both in hiring numbers and salaries offered, especially from domestic companies.
